Great post. I really loved how well you summarized the power of networking, the Blogger's Cafe, and the Tweetup. While we've know each other for a while I felt very fortunate to be able to learn more from you in person while I was in DC at NECC09.

Paula,

You are a gem! Meeting you in person was a highlight of my NECC experience. I look forward to many more opportunities to connect. (Maybe even in Colorado?)

Thank you for the sweet blog message. I share many of the same feelings you expressed.

How did your interview video turn out, by the way?

Love the PLN, my friend. So glad you are part of mine!

Donelle,
Love your post about your NECC experience. You were able to sum up so many of the things that having been swimming around in my head since I returned home. You and I have been running around in the same virtual worlds at webinars and Twitter for a few months now. I had to laugh at how we were when we finally met face-to-face; like two long last friends who were reuniting after a long separation. Although we had never met each other before in real life, we had an instant connection due to our interaction online. Love that!

I was so surprised how welcoming the "big" name ed tech people were. Maybe it was because they "knew" our names from our online presence. I mean I ate lunch with Sue Waters. I had wonderful conversations with Steve Dembo, Steve Hargadon, Jeff Utecht, Scott Meech, Ben Grey, Vicki Davis, and Angela Maiers just to name a few. I got to really know Beth Still and Richard Byrne and got to hang out with them.

It was an incredible week and I did a lot of networking with many different people. I have already started a collaborative project with Paula White for next year. And there was this sweet young girl from California who wanted to present with me. Let me see...what was ...her name... oh I remember. It was Donelle O'Brien. LOL. I can't wait to work with you on that my friend.

Hooray for our PLN!
